I have a large brick home with a concrete swimming pool, extensive exterior marble decking on several levels, and an enormous brick clad staircase rising 17 steps to the front door. Shortly after we purchased the home nine years ago, the lower courses of brick in the staircase began to crumble. They had clearly been tidied up in order to sell the house, but the work was failing. I invited several masons to suggest repairs, but frankly, none persuaded me they had a plan which made sense. Luckily, I noticed a crew repairing a chimney next door. It was Glen working with two sons. After inspecting my site, Glen proposed that we incrementally remove and replace the brick courses with concrete blocks, mortar and parging. He made a reasonable quote and told me when he would start and finish. The crew did a great job which has stood the test of time! When my concrete pool began to leak through a natural stone wall, Glen suggested a new product designed for this type of problem, effectively a mortar based paint. This low cost repair saved thousands compared with rebuilding the wall, which others had suggested. Glen also repaired the marble decking, repointed areas in the brickwork that had cracked and reset several concrete window sills, all on time and on budge.
